Disclaimer

CheckAScam is here to inform your decisions, not to make them for you. Please read this alongside our terms of use — it explains the spirit in which everything on the site is offered.

General information only

Everything on CheckAScam — our guides, our articles and any rating our tools produce — is general information. It is not legal advice, financial advice, or professional advice of any kind, and it does not take account of your particular circumstances. Before you make a decision that matters to you, especially one involving money, please do your own checks and, where appropriate, speak to a qualified professional or the relevant official body.

Our ratings are opinions

When we rate or comment on a website, we are offering a considered opinion, reached by running a site's publicly visible signals through automated analysis — which signals we choose, and how we combine them, is explained on our how we score page. Automated analysis has real limits. It can be incomplete or out of date, it can be misled by a site that has been deliberately dressed up, and it cannot read the intentions of the people behind a site. A rating is therefore a probability-weighted view, not a proven fact.

Because of that, a positive assessment is not a guarantee that a website is safe or that a purchase will go smoothly, and a negative assessment is not a definitive accusation of fraud against any business or individual. Treat any rating as one input among several, and never as the final word in place of your own judgement.

No guarantee against loss

We cannot promise that using CheckAScam will prevent you from being scammed. Fraud is deliberate, adaptive and often very convincing, and no tool or guide can catch every version of it. Nothing on this site should give you a false sense of security; the most important safeguard is always your own care and scepticism in the moment.

External links and third parties

We sometimes link to other organisations, such as official reporting and consumer-protection services, because they are useful. Those destinations lie outside our control, and we take no responsibility for their content, accuracy or conduct; a mention or a link is not our endorsement of them.

If in doubt, act on the safe side

Where our information and your instinct disagree, the cautious choice is almost always the right one — pause, verify through a channel you chose, and refuse any payment you cannot reverse. If you have already lost money, do not rely on this page; contact your bank straight away and follow our recovery guide. Questions about this disclaimer can go to [email protected].
